Muller depends on photography to filter and reshape her surroundings. Working with 35mm point and shoot cameras, she reduces her subject matter- close friends, both found and self made sculptural assemblages- to fields of texture, line and colour. The resulting images, somewhere between figuration and abstraction, are static and self sufficient, preempting the usual signification of their content. Taken as whole, the photographs map a kind of autopsychology recorded in puzzles, half glances and visual jokes without punchlines.
