Angell Gallery is excited to announce that it has moved the gallery’s unique brand of fresh, transformative and relative artistic programming to a new creative space at 12 Ossington Avenue near the corner of Queen Street West. In this new location, Angell Gallery has expanded beyond the walls of its former home on Queen Street to now boast over 4000 sq ft of gallery space including three separate exhibition spaces, dedicated screening rooms for video and animation work as well as a private showing lounge. “The space has changed but Angell Gallery will remain synonymous with cutting edge, challenging contemporary work,” says Jamie Angell, Gallery Founder and Director. “Since opening our doors in 1996 Angell Gallery has become known for its dedication to emerging talent and as a platform for launching artistic careers to international audiences. Our new space will enable us to not only continue this artistic mandate, but expand the roster of artists we represent and the audiences we attract.” The first show in the new space entitled Transition will showcase a rotating group exhibition of new and previously exhibited artwork by Angell Gallery artists. The show will run from February 3rd to March 20th. Saturday April 3rd will mark the opening of the first official exhibition at 12 Ossington. This group exhibition will be a sneak preview of the innovative and exciting new work Angell Gallery will showcase in 2010 and will include painting, photography, and video and sculpture installations.
